About the builder logo

Zeccola Builders is all about family tradition.  That’s the root of our success and the source of our commitment to quality-designed-and-built homes.  The history of the company is written in highly regarded communities that stretch from the Hockessin area to the Dover area - Yeatman’s Mill, Ramsey Ridge, Hampton Pointe, Rutledge, Kentmere, Gender Woods, Smalley’s Cove, Barb’s Farm and Mallard Pointe along with Huntington Mills in Clayton.  Now, we are bringing that same quality construction, along with our reputation for fine craftsmanship to Old Country Farm and Barrett Farm, the newest Zeccola communities located in Kent County.Zeccola men small

Founded in 1983 by Michael Zeccola, the business was taken over by sons, Frank and Larry, in 1999.  Other family members subsequently joined the team:  Larry’s wife, Deborah, and his sons, Larry, Jr. and Anthony, along with Frank’s wife, Lyn.

But it isn’t just family who have made a long-term commitment to this company.  Most of the employees and sub-contractors have been with Zeccola Builders for more than 10 years.  What this means to you, the homebuyer, is builder integrity and service you can count on well into the future.

All Zeccola homes begin as original, in-house designs generated with state-of-the-art, drafting equipment using a computer-aided drafting system (CAD).  The system allows us to modify plans to suit your needs or satisfy your desires.  It gives us the flexibility to respond quickly if modifications are needed.  For this reason, Zeccola Builders has a well-deserved reputation as a semi-custom builder.  That reputation is based on construction quality as well.  We belive in using the finest materials and the best craftsmanship, factors that directly affect your comfort and lifestyle and ultimately have a strong impact on the investment potential of your home.

Zeccola houseZeccola Builders strive to incorporate into each new home the greatest quality possible by using the finest craftsman and materials available today.  This insures that you will receive the highest resale value possible for your home.  The floor system is compromised of kiln dried 2 x 10 floor joist (for less deflection) with 3/4 inch tongue and groove underlayment glued and screwed.  This method will minimize the possiblity of floor squeaks.  To reduce the amount of settlement cracking in the walls, we utilize kiln dried lumber with wall studding on 16 in centers (many other builders use 24 inch centers) thus insuring a sturdier, longer lasting home with minimum of shrinkage.  For these and a host of other reasons, home inspectors from New Castle County’s Land Use Department have ranked Zeccola Builders among the Top 5 Builders every year since they initiated this informal vote five years ago.  We’re especially proud of that industry accolade.

The Zeccola Family would like to thank you for previewing our homes.  We look forward to adding you and your family to the growing list of satisfied Zeccola homeowners.

Cordially,

Lawrence A. Zeccola, President,
Zeccola Builders, Inc.
